GCSE Latin ~ Entering the Exam
GCSE is a UK public examination and students are responsible for entering themselves for the exam via an examination centre in the autumn of the year before the summer of the exam.
The syllabus followed is OCR GCSE Latin 1942 Papers 1, 2, 4 and 5. This is Option Code HC (for Higher Tier candidates) or FC (for Foundation Tier candidates). Higher Tier gives access to grades A* to D and Foundation Tier gives access to grades C to G.
School students are advised to approach their school's Exams Officer and ask that their school enters them for the examination.
Mature students may either approach local schools or contact us for assistance finding an examination centre.
While we cannot take responsibility for entering students for the GCSE examination itself, we will do all we can to help. If a centre cannot be found in your area, you may come to Cambridge to sit your exams at a Cambridge school. Please note that since there are 4 papers to sit, this will require between 2 and 4 journeys, depending on the exam board's timetabling of the examinations.
